The local firestone dealer suggested I try an off-brand tire on my buggy since it was cheaper its a deestone tire. Has anyone used these before or heard of them? they are 10 ply 31 x 15.50 x 15 and he said they look exactly like the firestone tire.... |

Make sure they are 23 degree tread, thats what counts. 10 ply is going to be way to stiff. |

He said they are 10ply. He quoted a price of 193 each, he has the firestones at 250 each. I thought I might try them to save a little money, but wanted to ask around first. |

I would not give $10.00 for them for my buggy. They are not the same tread. I have some of them on a Ditch Witch they are good for that. And they are stiff. And 193.00 is a little high for them. |

Bruce, Are you running the firestones? or do you have another brand you prefer? Also where do you get yours? and what do you typically pay? |

10 plys are very stiff even after cutting them.i dont know what the degree is on the tread of the tire you are talking about but 193.00 a tire is pretty high for anything other than a firestone flotation 23 imo.if you are just looking for a v-tread at a lower cost i would stay away from anything over an 8 ply and here they run a bunch of brands(with 45 degree lugs) and they range from 120.00 to about 150.00 depending on what they can get in stock.there is still 4 plys being made in the 45 degree lugs in goodyear and alliance, but the alliance's are made in isreal, and goodyears are a little hard to find local.and i live in WV so i dont know about anywhere else.chad |

That price does seem high. Like gasman said, if your lookning for any 15.50 v-tread, look for some good year or STA (specialty tire of america). I bought some sta's about 5 years ago and they held up well and were 4 ply. If price is no object, go with firestone. |

I would never own any thing but Firestones on a buggy. I have had all of mine for a while. The last I checked you could get them new for around $229.00 a tire. I can not tell much difference in 4 ply ones and 8 ply ones. |
