I ran a set of steel spindle mounts for 14 years (see my avitar). I had no problem with them & loved em. Apparently aluminum spindle mounts will be destroyed in the woods. Someone told me the bearing carrier wont hold up. Aluminum bolt on wheels are fine like Centerlines & will work with cut drums or brakes.

I liked my steel spindles, but I am switching to Combos and I don't think I can get bearings for them.

spindle mounts will probably work in the woods, but in my opinion, you should run front brakes in the woods...

Jeff you just need a boat anchor in the rear and those rear brakes hook up just fine.

My combo's have ball joint spuds on them. I just picked up a pair of steel ball joint spindle mount wheels in Kansas cheap. I want to have Instigator jet me a flange I can weld to the wheel so I can bolt a motorcycle rotor on the wheel & Ill run Harley calipers up front. Best of both worlds.

I used the same pair of spindle mounts on 3 different buggies over 14 years. They never gave me a problem. I lost 2 sets when my ex bitch gave away all my buggy stuff that wasnt at my moms. The set I just got is gonna be modded to run brakes. I swear by them.

I want front brakes, I have stock VW calipers to use already. Just need inexpensive rotors for my tweeds with wide 5 pattern
