I haven't cut my new 8 plys yet, i feel so bad wanting to cut them after paying so much for them... How do you guys like them uncut? I run a 2276 with a stock geared 6 rib and they are mounted on late model wheels, so how much difference do you think the weight of them cut is going to make in the performance of my buggy? Brad tells me its a completely different world when they are cut...

Uncut vtreads are sick,,,plus they wear out quicker and are harder on the tranny because of the weight. But try them for yourself,,,and cut them later so you know first hand like I did.

Ok Jeff, Here are a few thoughts to ponder.

A) Cutting tires takes a long time and is a lot of work.
B) Most people pay someone else to do them.
C) For the DIY the cheapest cutter is around 80 bucks including the extra blades needed.
D) 95% of all tires seen on Woodsbuggys are cut.

Now after giving that a lot of thought....................................CUT THE DAM THINGS ALREADY

hey jeff, if you have them mounted go out and ride them a weekend or two then cut them and you will know the diffrence.last year was the first time i cut mine and it was like adding a bigger motor.i went from running 28lb steel wheels to a 10lb alum beadlocks and cut from 76lbs to 40lb tires.it was amazing how it helped with power, but i will say that there is places that i never spin up before that now i light them up on.either that extra weight was giving me more traction or just had that much more power, probly a little of both.i would for sure have them cut but run them first so you can see what a diffrence it makes and then you will know what you liked best.but dont ride to much before you do it,less rotating weight will make evrything else work alot less, shocks, cvs.brakes, trannys, just makes sense to do it to me.chad

Cut them like I told you, its a night and day difference. Afterburnt said we can use his cutter. Bring them over and we will get it done. It shouldn’t take long using a good cutter. We could even cut and grind the side walls so they look like my boggers if you want.

jeff , im a little closer if you would like to use my tool . or hell lets all go to daves and drink beer and watch you cut them  and yes cut them you also get more flex out of them kinda like a drag tire or a rock crawler letting air out of them more flex the better traction !

This sounds like a plan. You can make your front trailing arms while they cut the tires. When they are done cutting their tires, they can cut my Firestones. I'll sit back and supervise, and hand you guys the beer.

But seriously, you guys can use my cutter. Jason, I'll send the the dimensions of the stock you need.

Dave
