i have 4 bolt pattern rear rotors, one hole is stripped. it will still screw in but never tighten up. there is not enough room for a pressed in stud, unless one side is grounded down. my question is could you take a grade 8 bolt and cut head off and screw it in and weld it in from the rear. or just replace the rotor. just curious of what my options . thanks for any inputs |

I have 5/8 studs in my rotors just grind one side down and hammer it in it works fine. |

I replaced all of mine with studs. It made it a lot easier to change the tires.

I would definatly change them out to studs. They are a much stronger way to go for offroad. As you already know the cast iron strips out easy. It also makes it much easyer to mount the tire on the studs and let it hang while installing the nuts rather than holing up the wheel while trying to line up the holes. |
