I am currently running Carlisle Tru power V-tread tires but they are extremely hard and extremely heavy. I have already cut them to the first set of cords but no one can tell me if it is ok to go further. They are an 8 ply tire so I am just curious what everyone thinks about cutting through the first set of cords with these tires. |

I can't remember what tires these are but once I cut them like this it made a world of a difference. Made them lighter and flex more. You can also cut the side walls to let them flex more.

I have cut through the cords before and had good luck with them.that being said have seen more lugs ripped off tires that was cut through the cords on both sides of lugs than those not cut through.Chad |
