the way i cut them is cut about an 1" out in the centers and then between the lugs cut'em to the cords and leave about 3/4 inch of rubber behind each lug and sharpen the lugs up

Just remember once you sharpen the front of the lugs you severly weaken them. Mine took two trips to lose two lugs on a fresh cut.....woooohoooo. So as long as you can afford to keep replacing them if they fail go buck wild!

I cut every other set of lugs out and then went to the cords and man do they hook.

The 45 degree tires are not the best however I found that if you put a 1" wide slot in the middle of each lug it improved traction a lot. Basically your doubling the number of griping corners.

I prefer the 45deg with off camber trail rides. When I had 23degs me rear slid around too easy. But I run a WC too.

Just run um. That air cooled is going to have a hard time spinning them as it is. They wont wear to fast. You can take atleast 5 lbs of rubber off both tires which will help the engine move um.
