I'm currently running a set of 15x12 steel wheels on my buggy with 31x15.5 V tread. I keep having the same problem of outside bead blowing, aggravating to say the least... Money is tight and can't quite fork out cash for a set of beadlocks. Bought a beadlock kit from summit that comes with the 2 rings and hardware kit. I've read DIY instructions that covered most of my questions, but it's still a big process that once you start, ain't no backing out!! I'm guessing most people go ahead and save time/labor by buying real set of beadlocks, but the beadlock kit seems to be a cheap just as affective alternative, that is if it's done by someone experienced! Any tips or tricks I need to know?? Or better yet have any of yall done this to your own rail? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. I consider myself to be a decent welder, but mine leaked! a bead of silcone sealant cured that! |

I bought those same exact ones, I'm not sure if i didn't weld the bead on correctly or what; But they seemed to be almost too small ( as in the ring lip). I ended up not even running them because i wasn't comfortable with how they pinch the tire enough. |

that's kinda what I been afraid of happening if I attempt it.... I think I'm just gonna go with set of Wide 5 steel wheels (the dirt track racing wheels) with a set of adapters and try to find a set of 31" boggers here local. Doubt I'll find any 23 degree V treads around here that anyone want to sell. |

The inner ring on some of the aftermarket weld on kits fits kinda loose in the wheel lip. You can use dimes, nickles, washers, etc. for spacers around the perimeter of the ring in order to center it. I use 8 evenly spaced tacks, and then weld between the tacks and alternate side to side with each bead. A good clean bead of silicone or seam sealer around the _inside_ perimeter of the ring will help keep the mud and water from rusting the rim. |

hell rust y looking shit is all thats holding the bead on my drivers side rear tire. I mean seriously....It hasn't had air in it in months and neither inside or outside bead will blow... They are 8 ply though  If only the passenger side rear inside/outside bead would fuc*ing stay.... Then I could quit bitching bout it!!
