I use a bus torsion on the panzerwagen(6 wheel buggy). I used a hi speed cutting disk(Dewalt) and shaved the torsion bar paint off. then spray painted it and repeated the same step over and over until I had them ground down about an 1/8".The painting is neccessary to see where you left off. It carries that bigo buick 3800 just fine.I did this back in 2002 and it has never broke or lost it's tension.Leave the ends blended. (no edges by the splines).I also extened some 1" thick metal about 4 inches for longer travel. Those German bearrings are $50 each.Chinnese $20 and not that good. Both are easy to bust cages while hammering in the stub axles. The housings bend when you hit trees and big ruts very hard. |

This is a budget re-build that we keep finding more that needs to be done than we thought. We were originally going to just let him ride through the summer as is, but the more we looked at it the less safe it looked. So we just decided to tear it down and redo it. Ron, I very much so appreciate you going through this carb for us. And I want to thank my friend Marvin in Clarksville who is going through the motor getting it ready. Don't know how I could ever thank bmoore for all he has been doing, working on this buggy. Seems like every time we turn around there's something else we need to buy. Money is tight right now on what was supposed to be a low budget build. There's no way humanly possible that I could get this done without such great friends. Thank you all. I'm really anxious to have my 13 year old out in the woods with me riding because then he's not getting into some other kind of trouble ! Can't think of a better bunch of people for him to be around then the buggy family. You all are awesome ! |

I hope to put my oldest son in a buggy this summer. I think keeping them in the woods keeps them out of trouble. I just need to find a ecotec for my buggy, so i can start on his. |
