No progress to report. Got some parts gathered up and some ideas on how I want to do a couple of things but as far as any work on it, nothing.

I decided to machine my own rear wheel hubs that fit directly to the race wide 5 wheel. Started off with a couple of aluminum blocks.

Not unless I hit the lottery or do a bunch of this custom machine work. Business right now is just enough to keep me out of the poor house.

To me Buggy of the Month or year etc should be of the Elite Buggys so why not then make BOTM, Buggy of the year (or Quarter) and add a member section and call it Members Show Case. I think that should satisfy everyone.

All right, that's enough.
For the record I have NO intentions of submitting this project or anything else I build for BOTM. I obviously have a distinct advantage over the average builder who doesn't have a machine shop and a boat load of experience at their disposal. I am not grand standing or trying to out do someone. This is the way I do things. It would not be fair for the guy working his ass off in his garage with a hack saw, hand drill and buzz box to produce something that looks and operates the best it can despite how it was built. More times than not the end result exceeds their expectations and that is the ONLY important thing.
This project could be an airplane, race car, show bike or a go-kart, the end result would be the same.
I would like to thank everyone for their kind words and if the desire is there I will continue to submit my updates on this project.
MadMike

Mike, Its ok to be Modest however it is also ok to get credit were credit is due. That is why I suggest two different catagorys. And yes you should submit it!

We all can see your hard work and passion for the sport in your workmanship. This buggy is definitely worthy of BOTM. Keep the pics coming.

x2. The way I see it is if you got it show it off. It dont matter if you or anyone elose likes it. its all about pride, and the way you feel about your build.

"In reality there is perhaps not one of our natural passions so hard to subdue as pride. Disguise it, struggle with it, beat it down, stifle it, mortify it as much as one pleases, it is still alive, and will every now and then peep out and show itself...For even if I could conceive that I had completely overcome it, I should probably be proud of my humility." - Benjamin Franklin
I admire your humility Mike.

Mike, i don't know you well or personally for that matter. But just by saying that, i can tell your one he*l of a good guy. I guess i could say, i represent the guy you described, and dude like the other people said, "give credit where credit is due". You have a beautiful build going, keep on trucking! 8)

Also i x4 like the idea of having 2 BOTQ award. We could have a "modified" and a "stock" class. You could be put into which ever people think your better suited for.

Modified-More cash into it, better engineered, nice buggy, fancy paint/chrome
Stock- Less cash into it, smaller engine, less purdy , sunico stickers to cover stuff
