Ok Hill climbs seem to be the norm and cool to watch. But for some of us lower budget guys it would be fun to have some freindly competitions where we know we have a chance to complete the course/obsticle. What would you guys like to have that we can realisticly pull off? I like the trail course of some sort, or maybe an obsticle course. Someone mentioned an event with a paintballgunnin passenger and targets. Take missed targets multiplied by your total time. What else?

i will try and have a poker run agian this year all you have to do is show up and ride all day and you could win.lol.but as far as a realistic buggy race i think it should be a class for buggys to qualify you have to have a loaded tool box cooler ful of beverages and at least some kinda of spare parts strapped on it.and when start you have to open a drink and not drink it but see how much you dont spill while doing the race or obsical course.if spill more than two sips your disqualified  and somewhere on the course you must stop and get out take a leak(drink first beverage after checked by an offical, and get a new one optional)and maybe do a walk around then continue to the finish.lol.now this would be realistic buugy competition.chad

Darrell has done a couple obstacle course races at D&K that were alot of fun. They were in the clearing down below the gravel parking lot. I think something similiar but thru the woods would be fun, too.

that would be cool to do like a rally race through diffrent terrain, like have a mile long course with some climbs some obsticals maybe a few mud pits or some kinda stuff to where its got diffrent challenges.i would like that maybe a tough buggy challenge instead of a top truck challenge.chad

I like the idea of a tuff truck type course and a rally type race through the trails with check points. if you could add those style competitions in the future i believe you would get more overall participation. You would then have events that most anybody on here would participate in. You could then have a hill climb champ, tuff buggy champ, rally champ and an overall king of the hill. The poker run thing is great because its just plain fun for everybody.

I was thinking of a different version of this one, remember "Revenge of the Nerds"? We do a lap, drink a beer, do a lap, drink a beer, maybe 12 to 18 laps? Lol.

we had a rally race and it was a very good event it was a dirt track that had some turns and small jumps there was only 2.5 seconds diffrence between a stock 1600 two seat lead sled and a light wieght 2500 one seater so its a drivers chance type event

if we are going to do that many laps i might have to let kim drive, shes a better drinker than a driver but id say if you can get through that many beers that fast and can still make some laps she should place good in this event.lol.chad

Personally I think that drinking while partisapating in a competition were the safety of others is involved should not be allowed. Now if your just kidding around then I will lighten up Fransis!

Yes Ody I know we can't do that with buggies, maybe 50cc 4 wheeelers or motorcycles  But if we all survived it I'm sure we would have some good video! A small rally race type thing is what I am thinking. At least 5 mins worth of driving. Little hills some turns, maybe muddy.

some kind of relay race would be cool. pick a team of 3 or 4

Author:  nitro_mudder [ Sun Feb 14, 2010 1:12 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: What type of events to have?

I like the relay race idea. But I honestly want something closer to what we do when we trail ride. Terrain wise, the trailes we ride at haspin are hard to even think of useing 2nd gear on 90% of them. Tight and twisty always going up or down.

any more thoughts on any of these other events i kinda like the paintball idea although i would have to go out buy one but they are a lot cheaper ones now than they used to be and i also like the poker run idea and maybe have a small obstacle course or hillclimb at each destination or a combination or mixture of the two?
