Post subject:  Help... Type 2 CV Boots

I keep ripping my CV boots apart. I am sure it is because I am running to much angle. Other than fixing the obvious and reducing my angle, has anyone had any luck finding good CB boots for a Type 2

thanks
Dan

empi makes a cv boot that a metal plate bolts on with a lip and the rubber part has a lip too that
fits over the metal one then u use a long pull tie to put around it... the after market ones that are
1 pc. where the rubber is molted on the inside of the boot are the 1's that the axle cuts into the
rubber and come apart from running alot of angle...

Thanks for the help.. I got two of the empi off road boots. (the ones with the flanges) I will see if they work any better.

I really just need to upgrade to 930 CV's and stop over running my type 2 CV's but that cost to much money..

Maybe next year....

Thanks again,
Dan

I have a part # in my garage for autozone that will get you a boot that slips over the cv joint like a 930 boot and is held on with a tie strap,I will go out and find it and post it later.

Hey Aaron,

That would be great. When I searched I found this post but I do not think the part number for the type 2 boots is correct.

That is the # I have written down. All I did was take a cv in there and had them look for a boot that would fit I think it was autozone that I went to.
