i like the single wire bosch alternator--in my opinion its a lot better than messin with generators and voltage regulators |

You still see a few die-hard generator fans, but not many. The solid state regulators for the generators helped a bunch, but still, there is no comparison between a gen and alt. Alternators charge more, faster and at a lower rpm. |

Alternater is the way to go. It gives you more current to run additional lights etc. You dont get the dim lights at idel like the generator. The generator actually requires more Horse power to run under load. Now mind you I am still running a generator on my red buggy only because it came with it and still works. My new buggy has an alternater |

In addition to all the great information they just gave, the alternator will handle more RPMS than the generator will. |

I don't like re-manned electrical stuff myself. The Bosch number is AL82N with the N standing for new. They cost a bit more but cry once I always say.............

You would want to buy one out of a magazine like HotVW or on the internet on sites likeMooreparts.com or Pacificcutoms.com for a "Bosch" alternator, I don't like the Duralast from Autozone because they are junk IMO, I had bad luck with Duralast batteries and alternators with my other vehicles, I would stick with the best, "BOSCH" brand name. |

yes they do--remanufactured is 104$--new is a little over 300 |
