Sounds good, but all late model diesel engines aint worth having until they are deleted and tuned  My new duramax went into reduced engine power for no apparent reason, so i parked it and fired up my 91 ford with 7.3 international and went on my way.. once the smoke clears, it runs just as good as any new diesel 8)

That's true. If I get one which will be a few years I will definitely delete all the shit and put a tune on it. I'm just surprised the ram 1500 didn't go with the cummins. I guess it didn't put out the MPGs they were looking for.

All half ton trucks are coming out with small diesels in them. The ram will have the same motor as the new gc jeep. I just got a duramax I got the older one without all the crap on it. Just could not see putting 30k in a truck to put 6k in it so it runs good. But I think if you really was not towing much a 1500 would be a great truck with good mpg I hear the jeep is getting 28. But I'm getting 21 with my 2500 so the truck my get better.

None of them get the mpg that the old 12 valve cummins get.. my truck will suck through a quarter tank of fuel in the blink of an eye during a regen cycle, and there is a noticable loss in power  DPF and DEF fluid, along with EGR make the late model diesel engines unappealing to me.. the old diesel engines are a far cry from the speed demons of the new diesels, but the dependability of the late model trucks is far from the old days.. i love my new truck, but its always in the back of my mind "what next"..

You got a good one.. my work truck is an 01 LB7 dmax and it has given zero problems. All the trouble in my new truck is emissions related.

Yep I got 04 LB7 I really like it. I did put a 90hp tune with a ppe. I could not be happier with it.

The new ram 1500 gets in the low 30s. Diesel power magazine has one there testing and there getting as good as 31 mpg
