So I raced with the Rock Bouncers today.. It was a lot of fun and some really nice guys (& Girls).. It was super cool to hang and talk with Tim Cameron and some of the famous drivers. After watching videos of these guys for years, I was a little intimidated. I tried to stay cool but I was super excited.

The bouncers have some amazing power and climb really well. While I was watching them race, I was thinking it might be fun to have a Buggy VS Bouncer Hill Climb Competition. I mentioned it to several of the Bouncer Guys and they all seemed to like the idea. Maybe around March or April to kick off 2014.

Obviously we would need to find some hills that would accommodate both Buggys and Bouncers. Other details would need to be worked out..

Let me know your thoughts? If you are interested, I will reach out to the Bouncer world and get the ball rolling.

I like the idea and like you said there would be a few details to work out .
One would be a running order due to buggies not doing so well in deep ruts. But could you run buggies before bouncers and everyone be ok with that. Just a thought. But I would definately attend and compete at least once to see if it will work. And I hope it does.
By the way, what's the word on another hill climb series?

I think it would be a great idea. I don't think it's two different worlds the name of the game is who can make it to the top of the hill we just have different types of rides to get us there and our buggys cost a lot less and is eazier to roll back up on wheels but I say bring it on

I would have done alright, maybe 4th or 5th but I got disqualified for breaking the caution tape. Oh well.. I had fun and did not get hurt. That was my goal. I will post some videos once they come out.

After 800 views, the majority of people that voted think it is a good idea so I reached out to SRRS (Southern Rock Racing Series) and they like the idea. We will start talking about dates and possible venues.

800 views and 12 votes  i dont think the view counter is rite ! ive propably looked at it 50x just to see the votes, with no replys.my vote was NO. i say we work on a hill climb series again for us and leave the bouncers to do there thing. or better yet ill see if joe at dirty turtle will let me compete with them this weekend and ill let you know how it goes  i have watched these guys many of times including this coming weekend and they climb stuff that is IMPOSSIBLE in a buggy, they arent gonna waste there time or money in my opinion to compete against us, maybe im wrong? maybe im rite? but there should be more input on it i think! i say do a series for woodsbuggy.com and keep it for us!

I with you the only way I see one of us keeping up is if we make it side ways on a hill and in between 50 trees. And if you think you can we will watch you jump that 40' gap on bobbys hill at dtor this weekend.

I do like the idea if trying to do something with them. Maybe we could do a hill climb then do one with them on the same hill or something more for them.

It would be Great to see more buggy hill climbs. If the only way to make that happen is involve 4X4 vehicles ok. But I would really like to see more hill climbs with vehicles with similar capabilities.
Thanks
Kenric

I love the ideal I just hope that we can plan it far enough ahead so that everyone will have time to take off work and plan for the trip I know if possible me and my boy will be there at least to watch maybe I'll play or try if I get my motor and transmission built in time I'm wanting at least 2180 so I know I won't win but I will give it a hell of a try

Dave,
I would agree.. the hill needs to be something for both vehicle types. At WindRock, The Southern Rock Racing Series used the same hill this year that Woodsbuggy used at the finale last year.

Except for huge boulders, we climb a lot of the same hills.

i hate to say this.... seeing as how i started with a 4x4 and the bouncers were my "hobby heroes" and i still love to watch them, and i voted and said i would compete(i will fix and then destroy my bug for the chance) but isnt this like the side by side question that brought so much heat to the forum before? i am surprised that there are not more complaints.... personally i think a bounty hill or hills is best(like dtor's get a vid of you doing all 3 that brought timmie cameron there to begin with) or its gonna have to be either a speed hill or incorporate aspects both excell at..... either way i bet its a people pleaser and like camerons last bouncer with the rear mounted motor maybe both groups could find something that the other has that may expand what we do to our machines.... i say game on... send me a message if it happens and i will be absolutely certain my junk is running and unless i am lucky i will beat on it til it isnt.... just for the extra thrill....

as for the comp idea, I don't see ever having a hill that would be fair to both types of machines for a true competition, just like wes keen and his buddy didn't fair so well at the comp we had a chocco they entered due to tight turns, and most of the hills they do comps on have bolders or ledges that a buggy would never get over, now if were more of a endurance/rally or obstacle course race and maybe a "bypass" with a time penalty for certain obstacles then MAYBE that would work not to mention it should make for a much better payout.

with that being said, I like watching the bouncers and have ridden with and talked to many of them, and I for the most part they are great guys, and the likes of tim cameron, wess keen, and the tanners definantly put on a show
