Been thinking about adding a body to my buggy. I have seen sheet metal and also the plastic sheets they use on race cars. What would be better to use. I also want to be able to take it off easily to clean it out with a pressure washer.

Haven't got it running yet to try them out. Waiting on starter now. My fault for letting it sit for so long. Wasn't avoidable so now Im fixing everything that broke or whatever happened with it sitting.

Already planning the art work and pin striping. Just like the bike, I painted it 3 times in one year. So if the buggy gets to scratched up and chips from trail riding I can re-paint it something else.

Would 20gauge steel sheeting be thick enough for body for just a trail rider? Can get it in 4x8 sheets for $65 a sheet.

Looking into possibly making a fiberglass body now. It won't be difficult to make a body using fiberglass.

Really, fiberglass????? If you haven't worked with fiberglass and making molds and stuff, you'll be using aluminum real quick. Fiberglass is a royal PITA, Think aluminum.

I used .062" thick aluminum on mine. Made cardboard templates to cut out the panels. then clamped them onto the frame and handformed them to it. I used 1/4 turn Dzues fasteners to hold the panels on.
Worked out really well.

I had thought about aluminum sheets but wasnt sure it would be strong enough. Think I will look into it more. I like the use of the dzus fasteners for easy on and off.
