I'm friends with a guy up here that owns an excavation co. He has 12 employees, and because of the lame economy and the lack of work he has been carrying 4 of them, trying not to lay them off. With not enough work to keep them all busy he has been rebuilding equipment, slowing the pace down on jobs just doing anything he can not to lay them off. Last week I was talking to him and he was finally facing the fact he needs to lay off some guys, deciding which ones to go was a problem.

As he was walking through the parking lot on Friday the solution became clear. There were 6 cars in the lot that had 0bama bumper stickers. Those will be the ones that get the pink slip on Friday. Now he only needed to get rid of 4, but chose to dump 6, and I asked him about that. His reply was the 6 that are left will have to work harder to keep up and he doesn't see the economy getting any better so the jobs will reduce themselves to fit his work force.
Real crappy way to be forced to operate your own business, he said that Democracy has a price and the 6 who made a poor choice will pay that price.
