Hey everyone, i was wondering how hard it would be to open up a buggy shop persay to build and sell buggys. Is it a good time in the economy for them? |

Hard to build them and sell them and make any profit for the time spent from what I hear. |

Heck Ya.... I would love to have a Buggy Shop in GA.... If you check Craigslist, you will see there are a lot of buggies for sale and they do not seem to be selling. |

do a little of it all build buggies sale parts and restore bugs and other vw vehicles from the time and you should do well but just building and selling buggies i dont see much money in it if any cause you will have to sell them for alot to make any money with what you would have in one |

Might be a good extra income second job but we just dont spend the money for a full time job. But being able to buy turnkey with a warrenty is a big reason guys are buying RZR's and such, so who knows. The sand guys do it with the big V8 buggies @ $100,000 |

Even in a good economy it's not the best business to be in on the east cost. Out west now thats a different story. |

I agree I would much rather have a buggy. But if you could make a buggy that can be financed at the same price range of the SxS's you might have a shot. The warrenty issue will be the hardest part. I know I will be hated but I would us WC in anything but a SS for this reason. |

No thats understandable i agree, if i was to make a financable one id get a popular 2 seater and a popular one seater to start make it a base model for both then give people the option to "build your own" |

I think a turn key Ecotec or Subi setup would sell. Adapter, harness, ECU, fuel pump and maybe a radiator and fan option all ready to go. Or maybe even all that stuff and you provide your own engine? Just brain-storming. |

GaBBuG wrote: I heard alot of people say they wont switch back air cooled It happens, ussually when they have a bad swap to WC. Havnt heard of any wanting to do it once they went WC and it worked right. But sometimes you buy a bad motor from the junkyard you know. |
