Post subject:  First buggy build
In the process of building my first buggy. Got most parts I need just few more I need. It has a 1600 dual port and a king pin front end. Smaller frame. Was a sand rail buggy. In need of trailing arms, shocks for back, 3 rib tranny, tires and wheels, and some fabricating. Started tree bars last weekend. Just looking for any advice from some experienced builders out there. Thanks

You might want to get your trailing arms and tires on it if your making new tree bars.you want to get this right and if you don't have something to go buy you might cut your self short.just a suggestion.Chad :mrgreen:

i agree with chad on the tree barsmine dont kick off my tires after my 2x3 arms and beadlocks ! jeremy sawyer on here make a good set of 2x3 arms real cheap . post some pics of your ride and we might be able to help a little better !

Thanks a ton for the advice. As far as tree bars go i thought the same thing so I took measurements off my
buddy's buggy who has the same trailing arms and tire size then added couple extra inches just to make sure. I'll get pics up as soon as possible. My buddy who's helping me a lot with the build said something about going to Jeremy but he also said he's been waiting a while for em too. But at the same time I'm not in to much of a hurry. Already learned my lesson with that.

Looks like you're off to a good start! Might want to consider adding in an X brace to support your rear upper hoop while you're fabbing!

need some advice on suspension. recently put on some of jeremys 2x3 arms and 31x15in tires and turned the torsion 2 clicks. some people been telling me to go cheap as possible but i look at their buggys and they did the exact opposite. dont want to spend an arm and a leg on suspension but would like a comfortable ride.

if shocks are what you are asking about, fox 2.0 are awesome, but more expensive! i myself like quality parts :wink:

It all depends on your budget and type of riding... I have yet to buy nice shocks.. other things just keep becoming more important.. i have 4 (2 on each side) $9 shocks from AutoZone with a lifetime warranty.. They are not Great but they work fine for me.. When I get enough money, I would like to go to Coil Overs to get the adjustments but that will not be awhile..

I dont really know what kind of ride you are wanting but several of the folks and myself run airshocks from oreilly auto parts and think they are monroe shocks and they are like 80 bucks a set.

$80 is something i can justify paying for shocks. not to sure about them fox shocks though. id probably say different if i road in a buggy with a set but thats probably why ill make it a point not to. lol maybe ill have to look more into that.
