Why do I feel like side-by-sides are replacing woodsbuggies? I think its time for a little video of each one taking on the same terrain. Hey, wildwillie has one of each maybe he can give us a little insight or even a video. It would be great on YouTube for everyone to see. Side-by-sides get all the hype. I see them everywhere. Its been too quiet on the board lately so I though I would stir it up a little.

i have both!!!! there is no comparing the 2!!!! a side by side wont go half the places a good buggy will go! my cousin has a razor, he put $5000 in long travel a arms and beefed up axles in it! he destroyed his front end trying to follow us on some PLAY hills    side by sides are cool! to follow in the trails or for use on the farm

I don't know about that. Odyknuck just got a Commander side by side took it out for it's first Wellsville run. Did EVERYTHING a buggy did and in some cases made it look easy. I will say with out the 4 wheel drive I doubt he could have done what he did. I personly don't care for them. I think half the charm is building the damn thing, find out where the weak spots are and making it stronger. Not buying something commercial like that already done. If that's what your into, cool as long as we all make it to the top.

I now have both and I will say that they are two different machines to drive. I like them both. My logic for buying the Commander 1000x is simple. Dependability!!!!!!!!!!!! with less wrenching and more riding. Now i am not saying that there will not be the standard ware item maintenance to be done to it how ever it will be a lot less than the Buggy. Get in turn key, hit start button and drive. There is something to be said for factory engineering. Factorys have a whole building full of engineers and test personal and a limitless budget to get it done. The Commander went every where i pointed it and did just as well as my Buggy. and in some cases better. Its a smaller package and is a lot more nimble than my Tank.
The flip side with the buggy is I have Invested over 25K into it over the past 3 years and using the best money can buy for just about everything on it. Right now I have the following things wrong: Bad clutch, blown head gasket, Bad rear wheel bearings, scrapped right rear rotor, wasted front and rear brake pads, completly wasted front end. Now in order for me to drive this buggy again i have had to invest another 2 to 3 thousand into it and a whole lot more time.!

You prolly take your buggy into a lot rougher stuff that the sxs though, right? And you called your buggy a tank.... (I aint sayin its heavy, you did 8) ) but if it is really heavy you know it is ALOT harder on the components on it .

Willlie puts his RZR thru some sh*t. It does do VERY well. But it has its fair share of breakage too.
Funny thing is I never seen it break when Tammy is driving it.

You need to swap that suby out for a turbo ecotec. lol that will solve all engine problems.

My buggy since I put the ecotec in I have found new weak points from the added power but maintence has been fairly minimal.

Image I have a rzr also its alot of fun, but its no buggy. no cutter brake, and not to powerfull. it will go about where every you want to thought and it has heat, great for ridding those not so warm days. like anything else if beat on it enough it will break.

Like said before I took the Commander thru every thing Plumberbill took his Buggy thru. Granted there are some areas I would choose not to venture in however that would only be because of ground clearence and a long travel suspension would cure that.
For my style of aggressive trail riding I needed to build a heavy duty Buggy. Nothing personal however a KY Buggy would not last me a week lol. The RZRs in my opinon are build like China knockoffs and it does not surprise me they break easyly. Ths Commander is built much better however time will tell.

Yea, Steve. There ya go! You say the RZR doesn't have the power your buggy does, but if you get the Commander, it has 85hp stock! That's 10 more horsepower than the Suby! :D

Sorry jr, your wrong the suby is 130hp out of the box but the torque is awsome. And it was free!!! My stroker costs over 5000 just to get close without as much torque. Nice try though, can deffinatly tell the apple doesnt fall far from the tree!!

Steve, I told you I was at the dealer to buy the X but couldnt till Jan. So this one may just be a fill in till the commander proves itself.

Steve, just making sure you don't lose sight of the Apple!
Did I say how much engine braking the Commander has. put it in low 4 wheel drive and let off the gas and crawl down the hill, simply amaising. No run away Buggy!

The rzr does that too but if you slow down enough it will drop in to a nuetural and go! I think its more fun than the buggy and the best part is that ive ridden it three times and didnt have to rebuild a tranny

the commander may be built well, but they look to top heavy like the rhino. just not sporty enough for my liking.

I was behind the comander when Ody put it on plus 45 degree and stayed like it was glued there. We both climbed the same hill and they both got a little squirrly in the same place but was easily over come by the 4x4!
