Ok, so I have a base buggy to build from...I'll take and post better pictures (see intro) when time allows.

My question to you guys is: With the price of complete buggies (for the most part) being in the dirt right now, and the price of new performance parts not budging, do you think it is worth it to buy a second full buggy that has trick parts on it, and use them on your original build (I'm wanting to keep my street legal status, therefor keep the starter buggy)...or buy parts as needed and required vs. having a second (buggy) to re-sell at a loss?

The short version: Dump 3k into another buggy that I might get 2500 (or less) for when I sell, or just choke it up and put new parts on mine?

I'm thinking along the lines of: disc brakes, dual carbs, winch, IRS, tires, wheels, bigger motor (trick motor), whatever else I can scavenge and replace, and have a working buggy to re-sell. When I do the math, it makes since. I've seen some very sweet stuff within' my (original) budget, they weren't street legal...but damn I want them.

Thoughts?

If you can buy a built buggy cheap enough you can part it out,,,keeping what parts you need and selling, ebaying off the rest. It's been done before. Might be a gamble and take a while. Some of us get into a buggy the best way we can and upgrade,,upgrade,,upgrade as time and money allow. Your needs and abilities will change ,,so will your buggy. It's is a family member,,,feed it. 8)

Take the vin number and title from the one you have and sell it. Buy the buggy you want and put the vin number on it. Add any lights, etc you may need and go ride. :D
