I have a rear two piece alum. wheel that i cannot keep from leaking.i took the wheel apart ,cleaned it very well, put several beads of 100% silicone inside the wheel (where it mates together), bolted it back together and it held air great for a few days until i put it on the buggy and ran it.now it will leak down in a few hours.I appreciate any help cause this flat tire stuff every hour is wearin me out!

i have centerline 2-piece wheels on front of my buggy , have you tried putting two part epoxy around the joint of the wheel where they meet once its bolted togeather , and then mounting the tire on it .
they have some for aluminum that has a 2000# psi rating that should fix it !!!

You may want to inflate and dunk tank the whole wheel/tire to actually see where the leak is..it is possible that theres a small pin hole in the casted alum.

If you can bolt them together, i assume you have cms wheels. I have had to strip the old silicone out of them and put new around the joint after it was bolted together, and they havn't leaked in 5 years. let it dry before you put the tire back on it.

Permatex makes a silicone based stuff in a caulking gun call "The Right Stuff" its awsome and will seal it but you never get it apart again. Clean it with wire brush on a grinder and put a bead around it then bolt it together, then put a bead around the seam. Smear it with your finger let it sit overnight and put tire on. I use it for everything! Even to glue the rear view mirrors on!

if youre not concerned about taking them apart again just have the seam welded together around on the inside and never worry about it again

Indian head is some good shit you can get it from advance or auto zone. Silicon will squess out and indian head wont.

indian head is like a shellac, its old school stuff that all the old timers use to use on head gaskets in thier hot rods, but it is still available at most parts stores and is still some gret stuff also

We seal ours with either polyurethane body sealent (cheap, easy to apply, tougher than silicone, surfaces need to be spotless though) or methacrylate adhesive (more expensive, needs to be mixed first, but doesn't mind a little muck on the surfaces, absolute bastard to get apart once it's been on a day or two though)

A mixture of Bars Leak *Liquid Aluminum and antifreeze poured into the tires through the valve stems and then driven will cure your problem. We have used it on all our tires and it really does work. You will need 1 bottle of *Liquid Aluminum (8.5oz) and 16oz of antifreeze (we use Dexcool) mixed together for each tire. If you are having trouble with front tires use 1/2 the mixture for each tire. This liquid will not hurt your rims as it is made for use on aluminum blocks. It doesn't dry up and continues to keep them sealed

I used this and it works great My two pc Aluminum wheels that I have my sand paddles on leaked down nearly daily and now I have not added air all summer. It REALLY works great!!

The reason for 2 piece wheels is when you bend one side you can replace the other half .I have had to replace one side or the other all the time .I say Slime it or tube it. that slime works realy well. I run tubes because of low air pressure

And I also use Indian head when building motors .Nothing works better on VW cases
