We are going to put turn signals on a bug and was wondering how to wire them up. We are going to use a three way toggle switch and two flashers.

Thanks cyle

That's how we do it.

Switch needs to be off in center, on left or right.
Power up switch, left side of switch goes through one flasher then to the left front and rear lights.
Right side of switch goes through the other flasher then to the right front and rear lights.

You can use a single flasher by just flashing the main hot wire.

Then the flasher is powered up constantly.

I wouldn't think so, as long as it's an open circuit it won't do anything.
As long as you're going from the batt+ -> flasher-> switch. Just don't ground the center position of the switch (wouldn't want to do that either way).

Depending on why you want blinkers, you might want to consider a $14 universal blinker switch. If you are hoping to make the buggy street legal, most states require hazard flashers. I do not think you will be able to do hazards with toggle switch idea.

In addition, you can run a single tail lights integrated in with the brake switch. Less lights to buy and mount on the back of the buggy.

Just another idea.
