alternator has 3 prong plug plus hot post outlet on the top. my buggy was wired for alt with built in regulator. How do i wire the 3 prong up to voltage reg. Also were does my dummy light go on regulator. If someone could show diagram it would be helpful, thanks dirtdobber. |

I am sorry but I do not get the question? Are you changing out the Alternator? Why do you have an external voltage regulator? |

Sorry,my buggy has a hot wire that goes to alt. and one wire that would have plugged into top of alt also. dummy light i guess. my new alt has a place for hot wire ,also has a place for 3 prong plug. How do i wire this? Maybe makes sinse now? Thanks |

Your single wire alternator has the voltage regulator built in.the alternator with the 3 wire plug uses a external regulator.do you already have the regulator.surly someone on here has a plug or can look at theirs to see what wires go where.I don't run this type anymore but ive got a few cars setting that may still have the plug on them I'll check for you tomorrow.Chad |

i have got reg.and a plug ,thanks. i just need to know where each wire goes?From plug to ext.regulator.Dummy wire goes to what prong on reg. thanks for help, maybe someone can help trace wire down ,Thanks again for help everyone. |
