Does any one know of a good toggle switch. waterproof preferably has a light that goes on when on. |

I am not sure if they make a waterproof one that lights up but I have been very pleased with the quality of Painless wiring.. I have all their switches and have not had any issues.. |

Even the good rubber booted switches that aren't lit are still open to moisture from the back side. Best bet is to run whatever switch you like the look of and spray some wire-dry grease in them every now and then (I use it in key switch, push buttons and electrical connectors as well). Also if you use the switch to trip a relay, even when the switch gets old and corroded it will still flow very small amounts of power which will still trip the relay. I just used a couple of nice licence plate LED lights to light up my whole switch panel rather than buying individual lighted switches. Also, the lighted switches have to have a ground going into them as well. If they are full of moisture (or corrosion) you are just adding another potential place for a short to form. |

buddy of mine runs these on his jeep.... he used to work at a military armor shop.... the main thing is to use liquid electrical tape on the back of switch to seal the wires where they are connected to the leads http://sensing.honeywell.com/index.cfm? ... 65&la_id=1 |

we used these on a buddy of mines buggy when we rewired it http://www.tractorsupply.com/webapp/wcs ... tId=135101 they seem to be holding up just fine, they have a ground plug on the back for mounting in plastick and such, however as long as they are mounted in metal they will ground and the led light in the end of switch will still work without having to run a ground just for that purpose to each switch, at least the 4 we used lights up without a ground wire |
