Awsome! I see you decided on an Outfront motorsports Turbo exhaust system. Is that just in case you decide to run one Hmmmm! |

Rules won't allow me to run a turbo, it was just one less thing for me to build. |

Yea, yea, yea. I wish i could put a turbo on it! I got the fuel system pressurized last night, and I'm waitin on the hydra to show up. I'm still not positive on the year, but it looks to be a 2004. |

What is this thing? It has some sort of check valve it it ![]() Heres my cut oil pan and motor mounts. Does everyone run motor mounts? ![]() ![]() ![]() do you just plug up the manifold heat ports, or leave'em alone? Does anyone know if the Subaru power steering pump will run a charlyne torque generator? |

I see it as a good ideal. Takes a lot of the load off the Bell housing. do you just plug up the manifold heat ports, or leave'em alone? They are not on the earlyer model motors, plugg em. Does anyone know if the Subaru power steering pump will run a charlyne torque generator? I would say the pump will work just fine. Madmike and I are running the stock pump on our servo/Ram setup. |

Does anyone know what all runs off 5 volt? I guess the TPS and the idle air valve do, does anything else? |

I would suspect all Inputs such as water, oil, ambiant temperature sensors, Cam and crank sensors, TPS etc to the ECU use the +5 VDC source. Outputs from the ECU like the Idel air controll and O2 heaters etc use +12VDC source. Curious why your asking? |

I'm wiring the Hydra ems, and with 3 conflicting wiring diagrams, its getting to be a pain in the a$$! I understand the injectors get pos. 12 volt and the crank trigger is powered through the Hydra, but the rest of it is kinda foggy. Every time I think i figure it out, something else says i'm wrong. Phil from element tuning told me last night that he "thinks" all that is powered by the 5 volt from the Hydra is the TPS and the Idle air valve, but I'm looking for a second opinion. Do you know where I can find another wiring diagram to further complicate things? |

What are you using now for diagrams? |

I'm using a 2002 impreza service manual. That what the guy who programmed my standalone said was closest to my motor for wiring purposes anyway. |

all the sensors should run on low voltage besides ur o2 heaters to be sure u need a trouble shooting diagram i know theres a program out there called alldata that has great diagrams for the car and an awesome trouble shooting guide does the suby ground side switch the injectors ??? i know everything else does |

I do believe the ground is the switch side. heres half of the wiring and the hydra ![]() ![]() getting a little closer |

I finished wireing the Hydra EMS, and tried to start it..... No luck! First it backfired a few times then I downloaded a new "map" and now I don't have any spark. |

Considering the Hydra is a do it yourself ECU I would think it would have a self dianostic mode that checks the I/Os to at least see if they are connected. Have you matched the Ignition trigger wheel to the corresponding Ignition map? Subaru uses a unique trigger system and is offered in two configurations. One is a 6 or 7 tooth and the other is a 40 tooth. You will need to confirm that. |

Yea, I told him all that info when he made a base map. I need some time to figure out how this thing works, thare is ALOT to the program (to me anyway)! |

A base map should at least fire the motor and make it run. I assumme you made sure all my wiring is correct and you have fuel pressure etc. Have you stated your issues on NASIOC and/or RS25? They would be a good source to help you. Also the Hydra forum http://www.hydraems.com/forums/ |

Its alive!!! Runnin pretty rich right now, I guess its time to learn how to tune! The water temp sending unit isn't working, and for that matter the water is't moving. I'm going to take out the thermostat when i get home and put a restrictor in. It sounds mean as hell! |

Super! So what did you do to get it to run? |

There were 2 problems, first the fuel pressure regulator had a little dirt in it so the pressure wouldn't hold without the pump running, and I had the right ignition map installed first then changed it to the wrong one the second time. Now i'm still battleing with technoligy! I know what the problems are, I just don't know how to fix'em. The water temp is way off and the intake air temp is way off causing the engine to run like its trying to warm up at 2000rpms. I can't figure out how to calibrate them. I did install a wide band o2 sensor, so the fuel system is now closed loop, and talk about instant improvement, it was like sombody installed the perfect jets into carbs and adjusted them perfectly in seconds!!! |

I would think the Hydra has the ability to select what Thermistor Curve algorithem it needs to use for the Temperature sensors. There are differnt curves depending on sensor manufacture. Is your water temperature sensor a 2 or 3 wire. The 3 wire is set up to give the ECU a signal and the other is too drive the Temperature gauge on the dash directly. I suspect the IAT is a 2 wire device possiably sharing the same common with the MAP unless yours is an MAF and a seperate device. |

Once again Ody, you saved my @ss! The guy at Hydra just told me he has never seen a 3 wire water temp sender. I'll go home and figure out what wire is the guage wire and cut it loose! Thanks! |

If you have removed the heater lines from the engine and blocked off the port going to the crossover pipe the thermostat will never open. If you pull out your thermostat and cut out the plunger and spring it makes a perfect restrictor. |
