Got a 10.5/1 SBC im putting in my buggy. Debating on which system to go with. Propane set up is cheaper to buy, but my motor will run good on 93 octane(no racing gas to buy) The tbi sysem im looking at is the Holley comander 950. Its about $600 more than the propane set up I would need, just trying to weigh the pros and cons of both. I know if you run out of propane in the woods, your just out. Unless you carry a spare tank, which is bulky and hard to store in a buggy. Any input would be helpful, thanks
Kyle

I'm not sure about this but I think some Propane systems are dual fuel,,,you can still run gasoline and you could have a small fuel cell tucked away with a reserve of gasoline.. Just thinking out loud. But fuel injection is the bomb too

Will one tank of propane last on an all day ride??

I carry 4 tanks with me (1 on the buggy) to ride for a weekend. Pretty much every time we get close to the truck I change tanks. But the tanks are not always on E maybe a half tank or lower. Just don't want to run out.

I can run my motor on 93 octane, Im not sure how much propane is per gallon, or which will get you better mileage.

if you use 1 gallon of gas it will use 1.5 "gallons" of propane.

That is what I always thought too. Must be a differant way of delivering the fuel.

Is it possiable to use an existing gasoline fuel injection system with this method?

The fuel map would be off to much on a regular system because propane runs on a different air fuel ratio. You would have to use a system like megasquirt that is programable and the injectors were expensive last time I checked.
