How much do I need to cut my oil pan on my suby and what is everyone doing with the oil filter?

I cut mine down to 3 1/4" total and use a remote filter.

small car performance sells a nice aluim one but its high, i bought one it is lower profile and still alows you to run 5 quarts of oil without looseing any ground clearence

how much oil does it hold now and did you take the baffle out of the pan or whatever its called

it will hold 5 if u run a remote filter

I cut mine at 4in and left the filter where it belongs.

i think marty ran the stock filter and a remote to get his 5 quarts

I still ran 5 qts but it measured a little high on the dipstick. I run a remote filter to get it up higher,,away from the skid pan, and to run a much bigger filter.

I cut mine off at 4" from the rail. Holds 4 quarts of oil with a stock filter, no issues.

i cut mine at 4" took that plate out of the inside of the pan and welded on the inside of the pan also dont leak a drop and still use a stock filter it is right at the skid plate on mine almost butting up to each other wish i would have taken it to 3 1/2" but every skid plate is probably set diff
