I guess technically I'm new. I've been around a few months now.

I am in Northeastern KY, near Grayson (which is close to Ashland), and ride mainly in Carter, Greenup, Boyd, and Lewis counties. I am in a buggy family, my first cousins built the very first railbuggy in this area in 1975-76 (which is the frame I currently have, believe it or not  ). My brothers Eddie and Rick got started in buggies about 1982, Eddie currently has 2, Rick has two as well. I got my first buggy in 1992 at the age of 15, it was pretty much identical to the one that I have now. I rode it alot and tagged it for the street when I turned 16. I run the sand drags at B&M raceway (right above Carter Caves State Park) for several seasons with some success in my bracket. That buggy had a 1641 with a Engle VZ-25 cam, two barrel progressive holley, and 4.12 irs tranny. It wouldn't idle for squat but from 3000rpm to about 6500 it would scream. There were only 2 woodsbuggies that drag raced at that time that ever run quicker than me on the strip, Eric Debord and my brother Rick, both had 2276's.

My current buggy is a very old king pin Berrien frame that has had 5 inches added in front of the torsion to scoot it back. I've got a 3.88 "zig-zag" car tranny in there which allows me to do a lot of road riding. I've still got a small engine, a 1679 with a progressive, but my buggy is very lite weight so I still get around pretty well. I climb most of the hills around but have enough sense to stay off the ones that I don't have the equipment for. With the 3.88 and a small engine I am pretty limited on the tires I can run. Right now I have a set of 31X10.50 Centennial Mud Campaigners on. If the money materializes this winter I have got a killer 2276/2332 in mind to build, then the tires might grow a little.
