Anyone tried one? I have no idea if they work or not. They don't look like they get ice cold, they must just cool things down or keep them cold. If you have tried one, what brand? From where? |

i read on the box a few years ago when i was thinking about getting one that they only lower the temp. 40` below the outside temp. so if its 90 outside drinks would be 50, no wheres near cold enougth. |

My brother has one that he swears by. not shure of the brand but I will find out. He uses it to keep meat cold after cutting a deer up and the last hams he brought me were frozen! He let me take it home - told me to be careful not to reverse the cord and cause it to start heating! A problem he has had happen once or twice. |

The reason for this thread is I am pretty much running out of space. I have space behind my seats, but not enough to get the cooler in and out. I could get to the contents and fill it without removing it but I wouldn't have a good way to drain it unless it had a bottom drain. I figured I could put a small 12v cooler back there and a cigarette lighter plug. If I did it this way I could strap the cooler in and in theory not have to remove it, at least for a couple of years. |

Ya I figured with an electric cooler I wouldn't need ice and could eliminate a drain. |

You can weld on some mounts to your tree bars for stuff if you are out of space. Just a thought. |

I have one it is a Igloo brand I bought it a truckstop about 14 years ago. I did have to change the motor once but it still works great. |
