i was going of the colors of the wiring diagram you posted --- my book is for older models so they are different

Thats the thing that is getting me, that is supposed to be for my '97. It doesn't look like what I am seeing at the plug but the rest of the diagrams are exact.?

you could find which wire is hot when you press the starter button and splice from it to the starter relay

i don't know what the "sensor" thingy is without looking at it in person. the two neutral switches they show should be one for neutral and one for reverse. I don't know if you can get away with wiring the hot wire from the starter button directly to the solenoid cause it probably is hooked up that way already. It seems like they are breaking the ground wire from the solenoid through the neutral switch so you would have to ground that out to make it work all the time. I may be talking out of my ass so take my info with a grain of salt. i have been wrong once or twice before. :oops: good luck
