I wonder how a lotus un1 gear box would hold up in a woodsbuggy? It kind of looks like a menedola, I think I spelt that right. It would have to be midengine setup. I have a picture but can't figure out how to post it. |

Well depending on the gearing I'll bet it would be great till you had to pay to get it fixed. Get the motor too!!!!!!! |

Put the [img][/img] around the jpg link from any picture on the web and it will show the picture without having to click the link or save it to you’re photobucket account. Like this [img]http://users.ox.ac.uk/~ohare/gearbox_1s.jpg[/img] |

thanks guys I am a little computer illiterate. Here is a pic of a audi 016 5 speed they say it is good for 350 hp for $450 I was just wondering if anyone has tried any of these transaxles? I know they mate them to v8's in the kit cars like gt40's. I was just bored and looking around at diffrent transaxles. Here is a porsche g96-50 they say it is good for 800 hp for $10,000.00 |

Like this ![]() Thats cool! How do you get the "jpg link" when you run across a pic you like somewhere on the web? Is it the address when you right click on the pic, then hit properties? |

Right click most any picture. A dialog box will pop up. Highlight and right click, then copy the properties from the address. Paste that into your text box where you are typing a reply or starting a new thread. Highlight just the url you just pasted and click the img tag above the text box. Click preview and your picture should appear. If you are happy with what you see, click submit. |

I don't know anything about the lotus transmission but I was eyeballin' an 016 Audi trans the other day that I found in our warehouse at work. I'm thinking about getting it just for R&d purposes. I think it would make a good mid engine transmission. I think they come with 3.89 and 4.11 ring and pinions. The 01E Audi trans is another one I've looked at. The nice thing is some of the versions cv bolt pattern is the same pattern as 930s. Some of them use a wider bolt pattern that I haven't seen on anything else. I was thinking a 1.8T with an 01E in a light single seat mid engine buggy would be cool. The CV's come out so close to the bellhousing it could be made to be reasonable length. Like I really need another project.... |

i took a trip to vegas a few years back and one of the first things i did was search out the buggy groups out there.i came across this indusrial park out at las vegas motor speedway and there was about 9 or 10 buggy race shops set up out there.this one shop i visited the guy makes lambo frames for the kit cars and its all square tubing and his shop was right beside a guy that raced buggys so he took that lambo frame and made a buggy out of it one of those desert race buggys and he had a ls6 and the audi trans in it set up mid engine and this guy took me out for a ride and it was one of the greatest moments in my life,i still get a big grin when i think about it.we was running about 100mph through this industrial park and shot over a 4 or 5 foot embankment into a lot that had just been flat rolled to pour concrete pad for a new warehouse and he started doing dohnuts and tearing it all to hell then shot at through the desert hitting some ruts and wash out all while doing about 60 or 70 and felt like i was riding on air,it was amazing.we came back and first thing my wife said is how much is this going to cost us.lol.it was awsome one of the coolest fabbed buggys i ever rode in.i will dig the pics up on this thing and show you how the audi trans was set up.i would say if you ever get the chance to climb in one of these desert racers even if you have to pay to do it then do it you will not regret it.chad |
