Anyone ran one of these clutches? Its suppsoed to grab like a 4 puck but it is designed to slightly slip at first then heat makes it grab. (This all happens instantly I guess). They say stick with a stage 1 PP which is what I have. I need something better the new more power motor is killing the cushlock/ST1 PP combo.

I've heard of em, I think alot of drag racers use em so it's not as hard on their drivetrain. I'm also curious how it'd do in the woods.

I know a guy that drag races with a BM disc and a Stage 1 or 2, depending on track conditions.
10.85 index full bodied pan car, turbo and a fair amount of HP.
Works for him........

I use a 4-puck and a stage 1 pp this combo works very well with the light buggies I am going to put in a stage 2 pp soon with a new clutch.

LowBugget has the Black Magic Iron Discs.
The Black Magic Iron Disc will slip/hook. What it will do is slip at first, then build heat and grab ASAP! This all takes place in a mill sec and will help save your transmission. Unlike a 4-puck if it keep sliping you would toss it in the trash. With a Black Magic Iron Disc you can blast it with a sand blaster and bring it back to new! This is one of those performance parts that you will buy only once!
Recommended: Kennedy Stage 1 pressure plate.
(do not use or need a stage 2 with this disc. we have used this disc with stage1 and made over 270tq )
On Sale $139.99 each not $189 like some others!!!!

I wonder how long it lasts between having to sand blast it.

Hey brad yea that where I was seeing them at LBC. I was wondering the same thing also about how long it I'll last between "cleaning". The 4 pucks break trannies I don't think I want one plus if you slip a puck disc and get it hot it's done. That's where I think this one might work good. Looks like it's going to be worth a try.

You should'nt have to slip the 4-puck clutch just rev then go, I think slipping the clutch kills them no matter what kind you have. They should'nt break transmissions either, it just depends on how the transmission is built, if you have a stock transmission and bus axles, maybe they will break, but so far, nothing yet.

I agree. They are killer.
Grabs like a 4 puck, but you can slip it without the chatter.
With a stage 4 pp.
