I have rebuilt my own tranies 3 or 4 times. the last time i blew it up, i talked to brian in canton, and he told me what to order from weddle, and when i recieved the parts i brought the parts and the tranny to his house, and he charged me about 175 bucks, what a deal. thats the way i would go.

I have rebuilt a half a dozen or so, but I won't do it any more. There is a hell of lot more to it than just boltin parts in it. This is the reason that I sent mine to Rancho. Thats all they do. everyday. build transaxles. I'm NOT saying that your local tranny guy isn't good, its just piece of mind going where all the "big boys" get theres built. It was $100 each way to ship, so I had to call it "parts for work" to ship it one way free  Then they charge $200 for all the labor and seals and I think some of the bearings. Last time I built my tranny, I missed a VERY small flaw in an unsuspecting bearing and it wiped out a $1000 gear set. :x
