Wanted to know if the nose cones were interchangable between 3, 5 and 6 rib trans? |

apparently they will, BUT the selector shaft is longer in a 5 rib than a 3 rib and will let it jump out of reverse and get off track and you can't get it out of 1st or at least that's what happened to mine. of course this was the way it was bought. so i different know the difference , but i do now. after i had to pull the engine twice!!!  hopefully someone that has more of technical background will help you out. |

after reading this it makes sense why my scat shifter wouldn't work when i pulled 3 rib out and put the 5 rib in this past weekend... I just ended up welding an adjuster in since it needed it anyway but i sat and scratched my head for a lil while trying to figure it out. Shifted fine when I pulled the 3 rib out. I'm still learning!! |
