Get a bus starter! Then when you want to go big AC or WC then you can run the 9" clutch, once you mill about a 1/2" off its gone for good.

I have heard of people running a 3 rib bell housing on a six rib trans but I have never heard of anyone modifying a 6 rib bell housing.

If you run a 3 rib bell housing, I believe you will need to cut a little bit off your input shaft.

Or Swap the input shaft for the 002 input shaft.

Just put the 3 rib bell on and your ready to go. Don't need to change anything.

I'm pretty sure you have to remove 1/4" off the starter surface. I don't have a spare 3 rib bell to measure though.

just measured my 3rib bell thats in my buggy with a tape measure. It's hard to get an exact measurement but looks close to 2-3/8" from outside bell edge to outside starter edge.
