So I bought an EMPI Super Shifter last year as my stock one was falling apart. I basically picked it figuring a $100 shiny shifter must be better than stock. After receiving it I was concerned about the reverse lockout and how it would work when your in a jam and have to rock the buggy a bit. I haven't installed it yet as I will need to do a little modification and its too late to return it now. Is this shifter effective in real life off road situations or is is just for street racing. Thanks |

Hmmm... No one has any experience with this shifter?? Is that because it's design is not suitable for woods buggy applications?? |

I have had mine for a few years and the lockout can be a pain. With my 4 point harness on, my left hand cannot reach the lockout button. I have gotten used to it. I can now do the lockout button with the bottom of my right hand and pull the shifter into reverse. |

Thanks for the responses. Mickey that's what I was hoping to hear that I could use the bottom of my hand to hit the lockout, and hopefully it won't be too much of a hindrance. |

I was able to grab the shaft of the shifter towards the bottom and actually use the bottom of my hand to push the reverse lock down,, I never had to use two hands with mine.. |
