When I had stock pedals I used one of these to bend the cable and then small cable clamps to hold the cable.
As a housing for the cable, I would run the cable through a 5/16 brake line..

What is the best way to set up clutch cable to reduce wear and tear. I tried drilling out a hole in a bolt and using that for the clutch arm but it doesn't seem to hold very well and it tears the cable up. I would like to find a setup that i can trust. |

When I ran stock pedal I always just used the VW factory adjustment bolt and clamped the new cable to the peice of old cable off the adjustment bolt too get the cable close to the right lenght then you had easy adjustment for the clutch just like a stock beetle did. |

Two heavy duty stock style cables from one of our sponsors, cable clamped together with about 3 or 4 clamps. My son runs this on a stage 4 pressure plate with no problems. (I run hydraulics with same plate, but will switch back to cable at the first sign off trouble, liked it better). Re-adjust by turning in wing nut after a few hours riding because sometimes they will stretch a little first time out. |

yeah... leave the pedal end of the cable alone. On the transmission end, cut the cable leaving enough left over on the adjustment section, to clamp the two together with those little cable clamps. I have 3 on mine.. stock pressure plate. Works great. I left enough cable such that when the clutch is pulled all the way the double cable area is pretty close to the bowden tube, cuz too long is easier to fix than too short! |

the cables aint the right length,short buggys ,long buggys,,u got to cut cable and put cable clamps close to ur tranny |
