Whats the most optimal 1st and 2nd gear thrust clearance?

I didn't think you could adjust any of the gears, just the pinion depth with those shims

i was reffering to the amount of end play for each of the individual gears that are on needle bearings.

the only shims i know of are behind pinion bearing,theres no way to do what ur talking about,that i know of,

your refering to the play between the gear and the syncronizer? it should have some slop in it.... thats how I measure it :mrgreen:

091's do not shim the way type 1's do. The nut has no shims and end play should be ok without any shimming. I would guess .010 to .015 without looking it up. A little more probably will not hurt. I have never had a need to change the end play using either stock or Weddle gears and never had any problems. 3rd and 4th are the ones you usually have trouble with sometimes.
