I have a 3/4 master cylinder that is stuck. I have soaked it in WD-40 and it will not release. Does anyone know of a way to get this unstuck so I don't have to buy another master cylinder? The buggy sat during my divorce and child custody fight for two years. Thanks |

I have tried air and soaking it and nothing has worked yet. Put over 100 psi to it and it never moved. Hoping not to have to buy another one but may have too. Thanks! |

Drill and tap the piston, then use a piece of allthread screwed into it. Place a large washer over the allthread, screw a nut down over it to extract the piston. Clean it well, hone the cyl, itstall a rebuid kit. Then buy a new one and use that one for a spare !!! |

try soaking it in a 50/50 mix of acetone and auto trans fluid such as dexron for a day or two and then hit with some air and/or push in on it to try and get it moving, if so then alternate the soaking and working it back and forth till it comes apart |

Go to cvs and get you some parafin wax. Heat up the m/c and push the wax between the piston and cylinder. The wax willwork its way in there and lube it. Try to heat master near piston so it draws it in like sweating copper pipe. Its an old machine shop trick that has worked wonders for me in the past. |

Had a caliper with stuck pistons. I let it soak in EvapoRust for over a week and it did not bulch. Next, I heated the sucker to almost glowing red, nothing. I had a package of grease fittings that I bought from HF a few years ago with same thread (amazing luck I reckon), hooked them up and pump some grease in the caliper. The pistons came off effortless. Try it out, it will work. |

Take off your forward brake line and poke it out from there with an old welding rod . THEN go to Auto Zone and get part no. 66599(upside down it still reads 66599). It is a wheel cylinder rebuild kit for some old ford courier or something. It doesn't matter because so many kits fit so many cars... Inside the $4 bag is 2ea. 3/4 cups identical to your pedal. I keep a kit in all my buggies. |
