wheel bearings on my T trailer went COMPLETELY out sunday afternoon and I'm going to have to replace drum and all. The brake drums/wheels & wheel bearings on trailer are VW and I'm not sure whether to order bearings for K/P or ball joint?? I'm at work right now and don't have a pic of the brake drum removed but I'm posting one below of the drum hoping someone can identify what I've got and most importantly what I NEED!! From what I gather the spindle is different diameter on B/J & K/P? Thanks,

easy enough, thanks! I haven't had to fool with any brake drums so I'm clueless on that. I've got discs on rear and spindle mount wheels on front of rail so never had to familiarize myself with drums. I found some ID&OD dimensions of wheel bearings on appletrees website and wrote em down to compare with the GOOD side still on the trailer |

Had a smaller ID on the inner bearings than the later ball joint spindle bearings too. If those rims are the originals I'd say they are from a 66-67 ball joint. Earlier 5 lug rims from the king pin cars did not have the slotted vented wheels. Especially if the dust cap goes over the machined lip on the drum. The king pin dust caps went into the drum rather than over. |

I agree with Gary ... looks like a ball joint dust cap . Is the spindle nut a jam nut style or a funny locking nut with a allen bolt in it ? |

Yea I thought 67 was the only year that was balljoint with 5 lugs I got One of the Layin in the yard. My buddy's t trailer has that type of spindle On it with a bent spindle but I guess it make scent a balljoint spindle Would be easier to weld on than a kingpin I gotta replace a spindle On it |
