Has anyone ever seen one ove these burst like this before? This ended with a bad deal. The part was a little more than a year old and maybe 6 or so hours on it. Thanks in advance for any help.

Seems like it was a cheap switch that failed.

I have had on leak but not "burst". I carry a spare now and always check all my brake components for leaks or loose bolts. I've also had a ghia caliper break from a loose bolt at d and k, not a fun trip back with 1 steering brake.

Owwwwwwwww

You know this is coming so here goes. We all have stories of someone getting injured because they didn't take the time to buckle in because they weren't going to be doing anything.

So please buckle no matter what

Glad you did not get hurt.. I agree that is looks bad with the Trailing arm ripped off. However, if you were going that fast.. you would have damaged the front end as well..

I only know this from experience. I hit a tree about 10 years ago and ripped my trailing arms off. But I also put my front tire through my windshield. Fortunately we were both OK and walked away with only a few scratches.

As for safety, I agree.. wear your seat belt.. I also suggest we all wear helmets too. I think I am one of the only buggy riders that always wears a helmet.
